BAJA CALIFORNIA – Zacatecas was awarded the Mexican Tourism Product Innovation Award 2025 for its thematic museum, Playmohistoria, during the Tianguis Turístico México 2025 held in Baja California.

This recognition highlights companies with innovative and high-quality proposals across various tourism categories, including cultural, sports, nature, meetings, romance, wellness, and gastronomy.

In the cultural tourism category, Playmohistoria competed against Mexitours, Raíces de Día de Muertos, and Andares de México, ultimately standing out for its creative and enriching concept.

The award aims not only to showcase the creativity and talent within the tourism sector but also to encourage the development of proposals that enhance Mexico’s tourism offerings and strengthen the country’s cultural diversity.

The award ceremony took place on May 1st during the Tianguis Turístico México Baja California. It was received by the Secretary of Tourism, Le Roy Barragán Ocampo, and Jorge Alberto Contreras López de Lara, founder of Playmohistoria, who were applauded for their work and dedication in making the project possible.

Located in the heart of Zacatecas, Playmohistoria is a unique museum that blends history, culture, and creativity through fascinating dioramas made with Playmobil figures.

Each room transports visitors to different eras and places, offering an innovative cultural experience that combines nostalgia, art, and knowledge in every exhibition.

In addition to the visibility gained by Playmohistoria, this recognition promotes the tourism development of Zacatecas, strengthening its position as a leading tourist destination.

The Ministry of Tourism of the Government of Mexico will continue to support this project by promoting its training and dissemination to further enrich the cultural and tourist offerings of the region.
