Zacatecas, Zac. – The Government of Zacatecas, through the State Education Secretariat (SEZ), has recognized students from the College of Scientific and Technological Studies of the State of Zacatecas (Cecytez) for their outstanding achievements at the recent National Academic Festival held in Valladolid, Yucatán.
Secretary of Education Gabriela Pinedo Morales, representing Governor David Monreal Ávila, conveyed the pride and enthusiasm surrounding this victory. She stated that this triumph symbolizes the daily hard work that empowers the state’s youth to become architects and protagonists in building peace and well-being through education, their most powerful tool.
She emphasized that this result serves as a banner for the state administration, making each student a testament to the effort and aspiration that the Executive Branch and its institutions hold for the education of the state. She urged the students to feel proud and supported by the Government of Zacatecas, as their talented achievements are a victory for all.
Sylvia Myranda Cortez Gómez, a student from the Río Grande campus, received accolades for securing First Place in the Humanities Level II category of the competition. Similarly, Cinthia Paola Aviña Montoya, from the Calera campus, also earned First Place in the Humanities Level III category.
Haniel Jocabed Chávez Tonche, from the Río Grande campus, was recognized for achieving Third Place in the English Level I category. Likewise, Agustín Talamantes Sandoval, from the Tlaltenango campus, attained Third Place in the Social Sciences Level I discipline.
The General Director of Cecytez, Julio César Ortiz Fuentes, lauded this success and commended the students for maximizing the support provided by the Government of Zacatecas through the College, thereby realizing a promising future for themselves, their families, and their communities. He expressed gratitude to the authorities, parents, and families for their continuous support and trust in the work of educating Zacatecas’ youth.
He highlighted that these results, along with other notable achievements in art, culture, technology, and sports, have positioned Cecytez as one of the best colleges nationally, currently ranked eighth among the 30 Cecytes in the country. This ranking signifies not only great pride but also a commitment to continue working towards the consolidation of well-being.
The ceremony was also attended by José Alfredo Sánchez, Undersecretary of Basic Education; Armando Delgadillo Ruvalcaba, Academic Undersecretary; and Sergio Saldívar Montalvo, Undersecretary of Planning and Evaluation, as well as staff from Higher Secondary Education of the SEZ, parents, students, and College personnel.
