With the aim of providing comprehensive care for the well-being of all age groups in the population and providing quality services as instructed by Governor David Monreal Ávila, the Ministry of Health (SSZ) maintains a close relationship with adolescents through Friendly Units.
These are spaces within SSZ health units that aim to provide free, confidential, friendly, and respectful care in a human rights-based environment, without any discrimination, so that young people can make informed decisions about their sexual health.
The work plan of the Friendly Units focuses on preventing adolescent pregnancy, providing information on different contraceptive methods, and preventing Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs).
These units are staffed by a multidisciplinary team of professionals in medicine, nursing, health promotion, and social work, among others.
The 72 Friendly Units of the SSZ are located in medical units in the municipalities of Zacatecas, Guadalupe, Morelos, Pánuco, Calera, Vetagrande, Trancoso, Genaro Codina, Ojocaliente, Pánfilo Natera, Luis Moya, Noria de Ángeles, Loreto, Villa García, Villa González Ortega, Cuauhtémoc, and Pinos.
Similarly, they operate in Fresnillo, Valparaíso, Chalchihuites, Sombrerete, Francisco R. Murguía, Miguel Auza, Juan Aldama, Río Grande, Jalpa, Tabasco, Juchipila, Nochistlán, Apulco, Mezquital del Oro, Apozol, Villanueva, Trinidad García de la Cadena, Jerez, Tlaltenango, Atolinga, Momax, Florencia, Villa de Cos, Concepción del Oro, and Mazapil.
