The Secretariat of Public Security (SSP) reported that, after a long evaluation process in which various international standards and procedures had to be met, the Coordination, Command, Control, Communications, Computing and Intelligence Center (C5) obtained International Accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA).
During the CALEA Summer Conference, held in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, United States, attended by the Undersecretary of Police Operations, Óscar Alberto Aparicio Avendaño; the Director of C5, Captain Ricardo Igor Schaar Muñoz; and the Technical Secretary and CALEA Accreditation Manager, María Antonieta López Herrera.
There, it was determined to grant the Secretariat of Public Security of Zacatecas the accreditation, so that, subsequently, the personnel of the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies will carry out a new review of compliance with international standards in order to issue a definitive resolution.
On July 27, the evaluation hearings of the agencies aspiring to obtain said accreditation took place; in this context, the C5 participated and, after a thorough review based on the information provided by the SSP regarding compliance with established quality standards, the CALEA Review Committee determined to grant a Deferred Accreditation.
