As a result of intelligence work and the operational deployment of Security Forces, in the municipality of Zacatecas, four males considered probable generators of violence were arrested.
In a coordinated action, members of the Zacatecas Immediate Reaction Forces (FRIZ) -from the State Preventive Police-, Mexican Army, National Guard, Investigation Police of the State Attorney General’s Office (FGJE) and Municipal Police, located the four males, who were traveling in a Mazda van, at the height of the Lomas del Lago neighborhood.
Upon reaching them and conducting a physical inspection, they were found in possession of two long firearms, four loaded long gun magazines, 21 live cartridges, 33 wraps and three bags containing a granulated substance with characteristics of the drug known as crystal, a bag with the probable drug known as crack, a bucket with dry green grass with characteristics of marijuana and metal stars known as tire spikes.
These individuals were identified as: Jesús Manuel N., 26 years old, originally from Jalisco; José Miguel N., 22 years old; and a 17-year-old minor, both from Guerrero, as well as Diego Alejandro N., 21 years old, from Zacatecas.
The detainees claimed to be members of a criminal group operating in the state; there are various indications that they could be related to homicides and assaults recorded in recent days in the metropolitan area.
Therefore, they were arrested and the weapons, magazines, cartridges, probable drugs, and the vehicle were seized to be handed over to the competent authority for the necessary investigation.
Security Forces reaffirmed their commitment to take decisive actions to restore peace in Zacatecas.
