Rehabilitation of water and drainage networks in La Victoria and La Tecnológica neighborhoods

NoticiasRehabilitation of water and drainage networks in La Victoria and La Tecnológica neighborhoods

In compliance with Governor David Monreal Ávila’s commitment to improve the drinking water service with a comprehensive strategy, the rehabilitation of water and drainage networks in two neighborhoods of the metropolitan area has begun.

The General Director of the Intermunicipal Board of Drinking Water and Sewerage of Zacatecas (JIAPAZ), David Octavio García Flores, reported that more than 30 million pesos will be invested in the comprehensive renewal of infrastructure in the La Victoria neighborhood in Guadalupe and La Tecnológica neighborhood in Zacatecas.

The works will be carried out with a mix of resources through the Proagua Program: the National Water Commission contributes 40 percent, the State Government through the Water and Environment Secretariat (SAMA) 30 percent, and the rest JIAPAZ.

García Flores celebrated the implementation of these works to recover lost flow due to leaks and avoid constant interventions in the streets of the benefiting neighborhoods, as part of a comprehensive service improvement strategy.

In La Victoria, 1,580 people will benefit from the installation of 2,000 linear meters of drinking water pipes and 335 household connections, as well as 2,261 linear meters of sanitary sewerage network and 371 outlets.

With new infrastructure, the constant problems of pipe blockages due to scale, recorded in the neighborhood, which prevented water from reaching homes, will be avoided.

In La Tecnológica, 925 people will benefit from the installation of 2,800 linear meters of hydraulic network, 220 connections, almost 3,000 linear meters of sewerage, and 220 outlets.

The benefit will be the recovery of flow due to constant leaks caused by the age of the pipes and the concentration of scale, as well as transminations.
