This morning, the President of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, and Governor David Monreal Ávila inaugurated the Family Medicine Unit number 58, under the Mexican Institute of Social Security (IMSS), in Guadalupe; in addition, the President announced the construction of a new tertiary hospital for the people of Zacatecas in that municipality.
She shared the good news in the presence of beneficiaries and health workers at an event where she also took the opportunity to publicly acknowledge the work that Governor David Monreal has done in Zacatecas.
“It is very easy to criticize in difficult times, for example, regarding insecurity, but it is more difficult to recognize the work that has been done to reduce violence and build peace in Zacatecas, and that is what David Monreal has done, so I give him my highest recognition,” said the President of the Republic.
During the second of three public events she held in the state on her first work tour as the country’s leader, Claudia Sheinbaum emphasized the decision to consolidate the work initiated by former President Andrés Manuel López Obrador to guarantee public and free health care for all Mexicans.
For this reason, this Sunday she launched the health clinic, whose construction was started by former President López Obrador, which will serve more than 48,000 beneficiaries, with the first consultations starting tomorrow.
Access to education should not be a privilege, and therefore, efforts are being made to consolidate a unique health system that guarantees consultations every day of the week, attended by professionals who are adequately compensated and whose rights are safeguarded “because the IMSS is a national heritage, thanks to you, the workers.”
After hearing the good news for Zacatecas, Governor David Monreal expressed the joy and hope that President Claudia Sheinbaum brought to the state, with which she has been very generous, and therefore, the people of Zacatecas “will respond with work, loyalty, and struggle to advance our state and our homeland.”
Monreal Ávila reported that yesterday afternoon, the President and members of her Cabinet met with members of the State Government for more than two hours to agree on actions in favor of the people of Zacatecas.
The governor expressed confidence that Claudia Sheinbaum will consolidate the second phase of the Fourth Transformation, and for this reason, Zacatecas will support her in addressing the historical legacy of a people that began its transformation in 2018 with Andrés Manuel López Obrador.
“Thank you for your patience, generosity, and commitment; I am sure that in Zacatecas we will achieve justice, support, and well-being for our families and our homeland. Here, in Zacatecas, it is an honor to be with Claudia today,” emphasized David Monreal.
It is worth noting that the Family Medicine Unit number 58 in Guadalupe has nine consultation rooms, six of which are for family medicine and three for preventive medicine, in addition to a laboratory.
At this important event, the President and the Governor were accompanied by the federal Secretary of Health, David Kershenobich Stalnikowitz; the General Director of IMSS, Zoé Robledo Aburto; and Leticia Rodríguez Amaya, coordinator of Intergovernmental Affairs and Social Participation of the Government of Mexico.
