Following a two-week break mandated by the Public Education Secretariat (SEP) official calendar, over 340,000 students in basic education resumed school activities this Monday across 4,779 public and private educational institutions in the state. Specifically, a total of 344,475 elementary and middle school students returned to classrooms.
On behalf of Governor David Monreal Ávila, the Secretary of Education, Gabriela Pinedo Morales, welcomed the school communities back and pledged full support for collaborative and dedicated efforts during the final stretch of the 2024-2025 academic year.
The Secretary commended parents, families, and teaching staff for ensuring a smooth and peaceful resumption of activities, prioritizing the well-being of the children.
Also returning to schools were 24,734 teachers and administrators, along with 5,506 administrative and support personnel (PAAE). These individuals serve students in early childhood, preschool, primary, secondary, and special education across the state’s 58 municipalities. Regional directorates oversaw and monitored the return to classrooms in schools throughout the state.
