During the meeting, the commitment to cooperation in addressing security challenges in the region was reaffirmed, with the support of President Claudia Sheinbaum.
Monreal highlighted the progress made in reducing homicides in Zacatecas and the importance of coordination among different levels of government and security forces.
It was agreed to establish an Intelligence Table, an Interinstitutional Reaction Force, and to improve the training and equipment of the police.
The attending governors proposed strengthening security institutions and working together to address specific crimes.
General Miguel Ángel Hernández emphasized that security is a shared responsibility and that collaboration is needed to face the challenges.
The meeting aims to build a safe environment and is part of the National Security Strategy, focusing on violence prevention and the improvement of security institutions.
