In a historic day for Zacatecas, Governor David Monreal Ávila received the Black Hawk helicopter, acquired as part of the State Security Strategy to consolidate the pacification of the state territory.

The afternoon of this Tuesday, November 5, 2024, will be recorded in the history of the state, as it marks the first time an aircraft of this magnitude has arrived in Zacatecas, making it the first state to acquire an aerial vehicle of this type, which will be used for security operations.

Arriving from the United States, the Black Hawk helicopter landed today at the facilities of the Secretary of Public Security in Guadalupe, Zacatecas, with a crew from the Air Security Unit duly certified for its operation.

Accompanied by his entire Cabinet, led by the Secretary General of Government, Rodrigo Reyes Mugüerza, Governor David Monreal Ávila emphasized that this aircraft is equipped with sufficient mechanisms to conduct night flights, is notable for its speed, and can land on any terrain.

With this armored helicopter, he added, deployments and operations will be reinforced in both inaccessible areas and on highways; moreover, it is equipped with intelligence and high-caliber artillery, with a capacity for 12 people and suitable for any weather conditions, both day and night.

Governor David Monreal also received and presented the insignia to the Air Security Unit that will operate the Black Hawk helicopter, which consists of a captain, five pilots, artillery officers, maintenance technicians, nurses, and assistants, all of whom have over 25 years of experience in air transport operations.
