Under the commitment to promote sports as a means of pacification, Governor David Monreal Ávila delivered the rehabilitation of the fast soccer field to the youth of Atolinga, located in the municipal seat.
This is a fulfilled promise from the governor, who had pledged to carry out these works that will directly benefit more than 1,400 residents. During the inaugural ceremony, in the presence of the mayor, Teresita de Jesús Arteaga Pérez, the governor stated that support and promotion of sports will continue.
He announced that preparations are underway for the realization of an athletic circuit in 2025, featuring six to ten races in different categories and locations across the state; that is, there will be events in the canyons, in the north, in the southeast, and in the capital of Zacatecas, all with good prizes aimed at recognizing athletes.
Additionally, tournaments will be promoted, including one for basketball and at least three other disciplines. He urged the athletes of Atolinga to stay alert and participate in all these initiatives that will reach their municipality and are aimed at restoring peace.
On another note, Governor David Monreal told the municipal president and the beneficiaries that support for Atolinga will continue through actions to strengthen the agricultural sector with a matching fund, as well as the execution of more public works.
He mentioned that the state government is currently working on the rehabilitation of various sections of the Zacatecas-Guadalajara highway, benefiting residents of southern municipalities, including Atolinga.
It is worth noting that the soccer field that was inaugurated had an investment of 916,540 pesos, sourced from state and municipal funds. The project involved the rehabilitation of 1,197 square meters of the field, which included the installation of fibrillated synthetic grass, a protective wall made of plywood, and the placement of a fence.
Upon receiving the project, Teresita de Jesús Arteaga Pérez, the municipal president, recognized the governor as a great ally of Atolinga, as they have worked together on pothole repairs and infrastructure improvements for the benefit of the people of Atolinga.
