The conservation and restoration of ecosystems is a cross-cutting axis integrated into the State Development Plan 2021-2027, which is why attention was given to this green area, which had not received maintenance since its creation.

The state governor put into operation a 400-meter zipline, which includes two platforms, four operation booths, and 10 safety equipment kits for users.

Governor David Monreal Ávila pointed out that the visit of the President of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, and the President-elect Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, meant receiving full support to move the state forward from the problems it faces, which gives confidence and tranquility.

He emphasized that actions are being taken to safeguard the lungs, the green areas that Zacatecas has, after other administrations neglected them, as in the case of Parque de la Plata, where walls, businesses appeared, and today efforts are being made to recover what can be.

In the Ecopark, modernization will take place; the second phase includes the construction of two gyms, one outdoor and one high-performance, to provide attention to athletes throughout the season; in addition, it will be safeguarded to prevent abuse.

The state governor announced that during the holiday season, all services provided at the Ecopark will be free.

The head of the Ministry of Water and Environment, Susana Rodríguez Márquez, explained that work is being done for Zacatecas; the Ecopark has been revalued, today well-made, transparent works are being done that benefit the people.

The park’s rehabilitation, which covers 100 hectares of protected natural area, was carried out with a state investment of 13,337,112.20 pesos, through the Additional Tax for Infrastructure Program (IMPAI).

The works were supervised by the National Institute of Anthropology and History (INAH), and included the conservation of the lake and the Infante dam, dredging, and restoration with technical advice from the National Water Commission (Conagua).

Among the improvements are the installation of perimeter fencing and mesh, waterproofing, masonry and finishes, the rehabilitation of walkways, squares, trails, biodigesters, and fountains; modules of children’s play equipment, lighting, floor lamps, concrete and ceramic flooring were installed.

Likewise, the suspension bridge was rehabilitated with mesh replacement, replacement and treatment of wooden planks; a pedestrian ramp and access to the Casa de la Tierra were built with concrete flooring.

The Mayor of Guadalupe, José Saldívar Alcalde, indicated that this action in favor of the environment will allow for more national and state tourism.
