With the aim of protecting the integrity of Zacatecas and visitors during the summer vacation period, the Government of Zacatecas , headed by President David Monreal Ávila, in coordination with the federal authorities, As of July 18, a security operation will be launched throughout the state territory.
The operation is part of a comprehensive strategy to monitor the roads and protect the integrity of vacationers, as well as attend to the areas with the greatest tourist influx, for which there will be the participation of various public security institutions from the different levels of Government. , which include the State Preventive Police, the National Guard and the Secretariat of National Defense (Sedena).
Therefore, efforts will be coordinated to carry out constant patrols on highways, tourist areas and urban areas with high traffic , and patrols will be deployed on main roads to prevent accidents , in addition to providing assistance to travelers.
In 2023, there was a successful operation, in which the number of visitors to Zacatecas doubled, with a low record of incidents, which is why Zacatecas has been recognized as a national example.
Although it is not considered a high vacation period , there are records of fellow citizens visiting the state of Chicago, Denver and Dallas, among other cities in the United States.
The Secretary General of the Government, Rodrigo Reyes Mugüerza, reported that attention and assistance points will be established in strategic places to offer support to tourists, who will have trained personnel to provide information, basic medical assistance and help in case of emergencies .
Likewise, a fixed module will be installed in Concepción del Oro and in all the Regional Security Units (Unirse), where the Ministry of Public Administration will be present, to avoid abuses of corruption , which were recorded in the past.
Information campaigns aimed at citizens will be included, focused on the prevention of road accidents and common crimes during the holidays, which will be disseminated through traditional media and digital platforms, with the aim of raising awareness about safety and precautionary measures. that should be adopted.
The Government of Zacatecas reaffirmed its commitment to the security and well-being of the population; Therefore, these operations are essential to strengthen trust in institutions and promote a safe environment for all.
Likewise, Reyes Mugüerza said that , as part of the Agenda for Peace, activities such as Schools in Peace are contemplated during the vacation period, where the Ministry of Public Security, the Army and the National Guard monitor educational institutions.
