As part of the ongoing actions to promote employment and improve the economy of Zacatecan families, the State Government, led by Governor David Monreal Ávila, through the Ministry of Economy, granted more than 1,400 scholarships to job seekers interested in learning a trade; mostly women.
With an investment of 5 million 628 thousand pesos, the support provided is an integral part of the «Employment for Well-being» program, operated by the Ministry of Economy of Zacatecas, which coordinated the implementation of 60 self-employment courses in a wide range of disciplines, such as cleaning product manufacturing, jewelry making, baking and pastry, beauty, hair cutting, fruit and vegetable preserves, artisanal weaving, among others.
Rodrigo Castañeda Miranda, Secretary of Economy, congratulated the instructors and beneficiaries, and emphasized that work is a human right, as it dignifies people, provides economic stability and well-being to families, and is a fundamental element for achieving peace.
He reaffirmed the commitment of the State Government to improve job placement and promote the culture of entrepreneurship by offering self-employment courses and providing support and tools to help Zacatecans start their own businesses.
Jaime Pinales Rodríguez, Deputy Secretary of the National Employment Service, pointed out that the delivery of self-employment scholarships contributes to improving family income, the development of a local economy, and the promotion of new business creation; he invited job seekers to visit the regional offices of the National Employment Service, where they will be provided with advice on these supports and other job placement services.
Under the vision of Governor David Monreal Ávila, the state administration reaffirms its commitment to job creation and the empowerment of vulnerable groups by offering real opportunities to Zacatecans in order to promote the construction of peace and well-being.
