The Government of Zacatecas, through the State Civil Protection Coordination, together with municipal units, are addressing the effects that have occurred as a result of the rains in the state, which have caused material damage.
By order of Governor David Monreal Ávila, the Secretary General of Government, Rodrigo Reyes Mugüerza, visited this municipality to verify the damage and coordinate the actions taken in this area of the state.
He emphasized that the coordination with municipal authorities has allowed for the timely response to the effects that have occurred, such as the collapse of the bridge located on Highway 223 over the De Mata stream in the municipality of Cuauhtémoc, which is already being addressed.
Initially, the Municipal Civil Protection Unit went to the site to verify the damage, take necessary preventive actions, and inform drivers in the area about the collapse to prevent accidents.
Personnel from the State Civil Protection Coordination and the Ministry of Public Works went to the area to support in the cleanup and prevent further damage.
The Genaro Codina Task Force has remained vigilant, and the State Civil Protection Coordination continues to make constant rounds in order to timely address any contingencies that may arise.
The State Coordinator of Civil Protection, Jorge Luis Gallardo, reported that on Wednesday evening, there were reports of flooding and waterlogging in some homes in Casa Blanca.
In the municipality of Morelos, in the Ricardo Flores Magón neighborhood of Sombrerete, at the Psychiatric Hospital in Calera, and in the Llano de las Vírgenes in Vetagrande, there were reports of waterlogging, as well as in some areas of the capital, where support was also provided to drivers whose vehicles were stranded.
In the municipality of Fresnillo, in the community of Valle de San Isidro, there were reports of waterlogging, and in Matías Ramos, support was provided to a family whose home was flooded due to the proximity of a stream.
