During her meeting with the people of Zacatecas, the President of the Republic, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, thanked and recognized «the great work that Governor David Monreal is doing» because, she said, it has been an extraordinary effort and today Zacatecas is the state where homicides have decreased the most in the entire country.
For this reason, at the end of her two-day tour of this state, she announced in the Plaza de Armas, which was filled to capacity, that the state governor was invited to attend the National Security Cabinet this coming Wednesday to discuss the efforts that have been made in Zacatecas.
«When there are episodes of violence and insecurity, the media fills with these news stories, but rarely is there recognition when there is serious, constant, and disciplined work, and today I want to give that recognition to David because the work he and his entire team have done has been very important,» emphasized Sheinbaum, accompanied by members of her Cabinet and the President of the Political Coordination Board of the Chamber of Deputies and Coordinator of the Morena parliamentary group, Ricardo Monreal Ávila.
She also mentioned that she met with the Governor’s team yesterday, and they explained the Peace Building strategy that has been implemented in Zacatecas and is now yielding results, despite the complicated scenario they inherited when he took office, as he received one of the states with the highest insecurity and a financial crisis, and he has already managed to put the finances in order.
«A recognition to the people of Zacatecas because this is done with the unity of the government and the people,» she stated while announcing that she would continue to provide strong support to this state, in addition to the construction of the IMSS specialty hospital that she announced for Guadalupe, as well as all the support for agriculture and the launch of the Seed Producer for Well-Being, and she took on more commitments.
She said that former President Andrés Manuel López Obrador tasked her with resuming the project for the expansion of the Osiris-Aguascalientes highway, and she will do so; in addition, with the consensus of the people of Zacatecas, work will begin on the Milpillas dam and its aqueduct.
She also said, «We are going to bring tourism back to Zacatecas; let’s not leave that bad image behind, we will work together.»
For this reason, Governor David Monreal Ávila expressed to the people of Zacatecas who gathered in the main square that he could not hide his joy after these two days of the President’s tour. «I felt nostalgic because I can appreciate how much hope, illusion, love, and affection we have for you.»
The governor recalled that Zacatecas has been the scene and witness of many struggles and support in each of the stages of the country’s public life; that is, in Independence, Reform, Revolution, and today, it is so with the Fourth Transformation.
«I have no doubt: under your leadership, with your good management, with your conviction, good heart, and the knowledge of a prepared woman, our homeland can look forward with joy to a good time ahead; in Zacatecas, you have our loyalty, commitment, and work. Zacatecas has a president, and that is Claudia Sheinbaum,» emphasized the Governor amid the enthusiasm of the thousands of attendees.
For his part, federal legislator and former governor of this state, Ricardo Monreal Ávila, asked the President to feel embraced by Zacatecas, a land of great men and women who have given face to the homeland, who are loyal, hardworking, and of one piece.
Finally, the President of the Republic took advantage of the meeting with the people to ask the people of Zacatecas who meet the requirements to register in the selection process for judges, magistrates, and ministers because «together we will transform the Judiciary from the ground up.»
The mass event was also attended by federal cabinet members, including the heads of Education, Mario Delgado Carrillo; Welfare, Ariadna Montiel Reyes; Agrarian, Territorial and Urban Development, Edna Vega Rangel; Agriculture and Rural Development, Julio Berdegué Sacristán; IMSS, Zoé Robledo Aburto; Conagua, Efraín Morales López; and the Coordinator of Intergovernmental Affairs, Leticia Rodríguez Amaya.
