Zacatecas’ Day of the Dead Festival Hits 200K Visitors, Governor Reports Zero Incidents

The Zacatecas Day of the Dead Festival 2025 wrapped up with a major success story, drawing over 200,000 attendees and reporting zero incidents (saldo blanco), Governor David Monreal Ávila announced on November 3.

The Governor praised the people of Zacatecas for their «warmth, generosity, and talent,» which he cited as key to the festival’s triumphant run. This annual event is quickly becoming a must-see for celebrating our cherished traditions.

A Bridge to Our Roots: The Grand Parade Attracts 100,000

The highlight of the festival, the Grand Day of the Dead Parade, brought our culture vividly to life for an estimated 100,000 spectators.

The parade featured more than 2,500 dedicated actors and participants, whose intricate costumes and vibrant floats showcased the deep tradition and artistry we know and miss. For Zacatecanos abroad, this parade remains a powerful, visual link to our tierra.

This year, the state of Veracruz was the special guest, sharing its distinct flavor, gastronomy, and music, including a major concert by iconic singer Yuri.
